 Primers

We offer many different types of primer including epoxy, fuel tank, and surfacer.

The primer in our BMS 10-72 system is the EP-2-Y1. This three-component urethane primer meets many specifications including MEP 10-068, BMS 10-79, BAMS 565-008, and AIMS 04-04-013. EP-2-Y1 is widely known for having excellent resistance to  Filliform corrosion, Skydrol and other fluids and is also VOC Compliant.

For severe corrosion or high fluid exposure areas we recommend the EP-3-Series. It is a two-component primer that can be topcoated with an epoxy or polyurethane enamel.

An aluminized epoxy primer is available in a conventional (EP-4-CM1) or high-solids (EP-5-CM1) formula. The EP-4 and EP-5 have been designed specifically to protect aircraft wing surfaces from corrosion.

Another beneficial primer is the EP-6-BK1. This is a two-component conductive epoxy primer made to produce anti-static film on fiberglass components and can be top-coated with epoxy or polyurethane enamel.

 Topcoats

We have a wide variety of topcoats designed for many different purposes. Among our topcoats we have acrylic, epoxy, polyurethane and waterborne.

The topcoat partnered with EP-2-Y1 in our BMS 10-72 system is the High Solids Gloss Polyurethane PG-6 Series. This coating series has been designed for use on aircraft requiring chemical resistance and color retention. PG-6 Series meets the most demanding aerospace specifications for chemical resistance, hardness, flexibility, color & gloss retention and shows excellent DOI (distinctness of image). It is VOC compliant and available in a two or three component mix ratio.
The PG-6 formula is also available in a flat, which is the PF-6 Series.
